- Kenneth Brian Associates are working with an established family run distribution business based in Guilford, looking to hire a Finance & General Manager.We are looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious and competent candidate with solid experience of accounting and administration. The company runs a Personal Development Program and the successful candidate will be on a progression plan with the potential for a board directorship within 5 years.
Whilst you require accounts skills, this job demands involvement in their day to running and management so acquiring an understanding of the business and the ability to make decisions is essential.
Accounts and General Admin Responsibilities include:- Bank Reconciliations, including foreign currencies
- Managing the 12 week rolling Cash Flow forecast
- Preparing Monthly Management Accounts and presenting to the Board of Directors
- Preparing Annual Budgets and updating the Board each month with forecasts.
- Managing Payroll, Pensions, Staff Expenses and general cost management control
- Assist the directors in ad-hoc duties where required
- Supervise the accounts/admin team
- Preparing and Submitting Quarterly VAT Returns
- Managing third party agreements including Insurance, Pensions, health care, HMRC and Commercial Agreements
- Undertaking all end of year reconciliations and preparations for annual audit
- Key support to the Directors in commercial negotiations and business development
Skills/Requirements- ACA/CIMA/ACCA part qualified / qualified preferred but not essential
- Experience using accounting systems
- Strong Computer skills including Office i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work to deadlines
- A genuine interest in learning about our business, markets and contributing as a senior member of the team to the collective work required
