Bookkeeper

Kenneth Brian Associates are working with a long-established and highly regarded business based in Cheam who are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their friendly and stable finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented finance professional looking to take ownership of the day-to-day bookkeeping function within a successful local business.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping
• Processing purchase and sales ledger transactions
• Bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• CIS administration, including subcontractor verification and CIS returns
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
• Credit control and supplier payment processing
• Assisting with month-end procedures and reporting
• Liaising with external accountants where required
• General finance administration and ad hoc support to the wider business

Person Specification

• Previous experience in a Bookkeeping position
• Strong working knowledge of CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) is essential
• Experience preparing VAT returns and carrying out reconciliations
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
