Overview:

Kenneth Brian Associates are exclusively partnering with a PE-backed start-up company within the manufacturing sector.

We are seeking a high-calibre Finance Director who is on the pathway to becoming a CFO who would like to be part of a brand-new start-up and play a pivotal role in shaping and scaling the finance function.

This is a fully based remote role, however, applicants must reside in the Surrey, London, or surrounding areas, to attend occasional in-person meetings with the senior leadership team and Private Equity shareholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day finance function, ensuring robust financial controls and accurate reporting
  • Implement Finance Systems and Procedures
  • Develop and oversee budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management processes
  • Produce monthly management accounts and board packs for executive and investor reporting
  • Partner with senior leadership to drive commercial decision-making and financial strategy
  • Support with fundraising, investment analysis, and M&A activities
  • Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and banks, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements
  • Build and manage a small but growing finance team, establishing scalable processes and systems
  • Drive automation and systems improvements across the finance function

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong technical and commercial finance experience
  • You will ideally have previous experience in a start-up, high-growth, or PE-backed business.
  • Background in manufacturing, engineering, or a related product-led sector is beneficial.
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with ERP implementation is a plus.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and challenge at senior levels
  • Self-starter with a proactive and hands-on approach, comfortable in a remote working environment
