Kenneth Brian Associates have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced or up and coming accountant to join an industry leading business based in Godalming.

Our client is looking for an efficient and experienced Accountant to help this fast-growing business grow and deliver upon their strategic objectives for 2022 and beyond.

We are seeking a self-driven professional who will be able to take ownership of the role and play a key part in assisting our team to deliver our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily updating of cashbooks and monitoring cash flow for all 3 companies.
  • Reconciling and submitting VAT returns and PAYE
  • To reconcile invoices received from Xero against the Project Document highlighting any differences or investigating these with the supplier.
  • Ensure accurate accounting, revenue recognition and forecasting for projects, overheads and cross charges.
  • Creating and assist with the monthly management accounts including profit and loss reports and balance sheets before reviewing with FD
  • Present details on overhead, working capital etc. in a clear and comprehensive manner.
  • Completion of full balance reconciliations, rolling forecast updates, and regular cashflow reporting.
  • Overseeing credit control
  • Liaising with the company's sales and project team to understand the time frame for a project and to prepare for procurement at the correct stage.
  • To understand and highlight any long-lead times and to check for delivery dates with suppliers
  • To work together with the Finance Team to highlight anticipated costs and provide copies of invoices where required.
  • Liaising with the company's suppliers, with excellent levels of communication and professionalism to ensure we are maintaining the high-quality relationships we have in place.

Required skills & experience:

  • Minimum 5yrs experience in a similar Finance role
  • Solid experience with all Microsoft software such as Word & Excel.
  • The ability to use formulas within Excel to accurately calculate margins and to track stock.
  • Attention to detail to ensure that all orders are processed correctly and documented accurately.
  • A keen follower/developer of processes - we need someone who lives for detail and process!
  • Excellent communication skills - the ability to create relationships with key partners and suppliers to ensure the supply chain operates efficiently.
