Kenneth Brian Associates are partnering exclusively with a high-growth, international wholesale SME business, currently turning over in excess of £40m, based in the Wimbledon area.
We are recruiting a Management Accountant for the business, someone ready to start their CIMA or ACCA studies or who has already commenced studies. This is a fast paced, hands-on and very progressive role working directly with the Head of Finance with a view to taking over the day-to-day running of the finance department within 3-5 years.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head of Finance with monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting tasks to ensure accurate and timely month-end close, including:
- Posting journals
- Reviewing aged debtors and creditors
- Bank reconciliations
- Review aged debtors on a daily and weekly basis and escalate overdue balances to the Head of Finance.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Supervise the day-to-day work of two Accounts Assistants (Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable), providing guidance and support as required.
- Support the Head of Finance in the implementation of a new ERP system, including:
- Process setup
- Data cleansing
- Ensuring accuracy and completeness of migrated data
- Ensure all purchase invoices are matched against Goods Received Notes (GRNs), liaising with the Warehouse and Purchasing teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure invoices are processed in line with company policy, approve supplier payment runs, and ensure suppliers are paid on a timely basis.
- Review and post credit card and expense transactions.
- Maintain and update rebate calculations.
- Provide cover for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions when required.
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and systems.
- Undertake ad-hoc finance duties as required.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) or actively studying.
- Purchase ledger and Sales ledger experience.
- Exposure to month-end and year-end audit processes.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, IF statements essential).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels internally and externally.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work using own initiative.
- Flexible team player with a willingness to learn.
