Description
Kenneth Brian Associates are currently working on a retained piece of recruitment on behalf of a market leading retail business.

Due to Maternity cover in the team, our client has a fantastic and rare opportunity for a Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) Accountant to join and head up their Finance department for a period of 15 months.
This is a hands-on role which will cover all the financial requirements within the Group. Working alongside the Finance Director, you will lead a finance team (6) and take responsibility for all of the financial controls and transaction processing for all entities within the Group.

Key duties include:

  • Supervise, manage and develop a team of 6.
  • Manage the month end procedures including period closure.
  • Finalise and review monthly management accounts. Fully investigate variances.
  • Full responsibility for Balance Sheet and month end reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly reporting pack for Group bankers.
  • Assist the FD in cashflow management and the weekly production of the short-term cash flow.
  • Manage treasury and banking functions including reviewing and authorising bank payments.
  • Prepare and submit the Quarterly VAT submissions and main contact point for HMRC.
  • Manage submission of European VAT returns and payments.
  • Manage submission of monthly EC sales list and Intrastat returns.
  • Main point of contact for Group audit, preparing supporting schedules and assisting with queries.
  • Assist in the preparation of Group Budgets and Forecasts.
  • Assist with monthly reforecasting based on actual performance.
  • Assist Finance Director or other business partners with ad-hoc duties.
