Kenneth Brian Associates are partnering with a rapidly growing multi-site organisation within the Healthcare sector. Following significant expansion over the past 24 months, our client is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Cash Allocations & Bank Reconciliations Assistant to join their friendly and collaborative finance team in Reading.
This role will support the Credit Control function, ensuring the accurate and timely allocation of incoming payments and maintaining strong financial controls across the business.
Our client is also open to considering ambitious and motivated candidates with at least 12 months’ experience within a finance environment who are looking to develop their skills and progress their career.
The Role
Reporting to the Credit Control Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate customer accounts through daily cash allocations and bank reconciliations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced finance environment and has a strong eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily allocation of incoming payments across multiple bank accounts
- Performing regular bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies efficiently
- Supporting the Credit Control team with account investigations and payment queries
- Liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders regarding unidentified receipts
- Monitoring aged receipts and ensuring timely resolution of unallocated cash
- Assisting with month-end finance processes and reporting
- Maintaining accurate financial records and clear audit trails
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within cash allocation and reconciliation processes
- Providing ad hoc finance and administrative support where required
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience within cash allocations, bank reconciliations, or transactional finance
- Experience supporting a Credit Control function would be highly advantageous
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident using Excel and finance systems
- Ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative and proactive approach
- Organised, reliable, and adaptable mindset
