Description

I am seeking a detail oriented and experienced Bookkeeper with CIS experience for a growing company im working with in Coulsdon. The role would be part time and 20 hours per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records with a focus on the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), ensuring accurate bookkeeping, compliance with HMRC regulations, and supporting the smooth running of the company’s finances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software.
  • Manage CIS subcontractor registrations and verifications with HMRC.
  • Calculate and process CIS deductions and prepare monthly CIS returns.
  • Maintain purchase and sales ledgers.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and supplier statements.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns.
  • Process subcontractor payments and maintain payment records.
  • Process Payroll
  • Deal with all VAT returns
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and company procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Bookkeeper, ideally within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) processes and compliance.
  • Experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
  • Good understanding of VAT and general bookkeeping principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
