- Kenneth Brian Associates are working with a market leader in their field to recruit for a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst. This role is with the Financial Reporting team, and you will be in charge of financial reporting, month-end closing and general accounting and tax process.
You will be reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, within Finance, and work closely with the other Financial Reporting Analysts and other Finance teams.
Some of the key responsibilities of this role, but are not limited to:
Taxes:- Review indirect tax (VAT and CCL) postings/calculations/ returns ensuring compliance with tax rules as well as accuracy and timeliness of data submitted.
- Ensure compliance with indirect tax rules, in coordination with the Corporate Finance team and Group.
- Be the key contact for queries relating to indirect taxes across the Business.
- Review new requirements relating to indirect taxes and ensure required changes/improvements are implemented, including impacts on processes and systems.
- Liaise with the Business and IT to ensure VAT and CCL rates are correctly updated in relevant systems.
- Provide training and guidance to relevant teams to ensure compliance with tax rules and ensure required documentation is up to date.
- Be the key contact for the Corporate Finance team regarding corporation tax and other UK taxes under their responsibility.
- Liaise with external and internal tax advisers to understand and interpret relevant tax laws, including changes.
- Contribute to the Senior Accounting Officer certification process as required, in coordination with the Audit and Compliance team.
- Review applicable accounting standards and prepare/maintain accounting policies as and when required to follow constant evolutions in standards and requirements.
- Participate to the critical review of existing processes/methods to ensure strict compliance with applicable accounting and financial reporting rules.
- Prepare reports/analyses required in relation to Statutory Accounts and other statutory reporting obligations, in coordination with the Corporate Finance team (in charge of producing Statutory Accounts for the company).
- Execute the monthly closing process. Prepare and post month-end journals in the accounting system (SUN) in a timely and accurate manner. This includes reviewing / challenging calculations performed by other teams.
- Perform or review required reconciliations (balance sheet rec, inter-companies and intra-company recs, bank recs, manual invoices, etc.) and maintain comprehensive and up to date paperwork.
- Prepare Sarbanes-Oxley Monitoring and Control documents in a timely manner.
- Provide Guidance/ support to the Financial Reporting Analysts as required.
As a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst, your skills and qualifications will ideally include:- Qualified ACA, CIMA or ACCA with PQE experience in indirect taxes, accounting and financial reporting.
- Highly numerate with excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent computer skills in Excel to include Complex formulas and ability to work with large volumes of data.
