- Kenneth Brian Associates are working with innovative company based in Leatherhead, that are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant on a permanent basis, to join their exciting team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Month end:
• Prepare and post period end journal entries ensuring accurate recording of all costs in a timely manner, including prepayments and accruals
• Recharge expenses and revenue reconciliation
• Complete robust balance sheet reconciliations to agreed deadlines with all reconciling items investigated and resolved promptly
• Investigate and prepare narrative explaining variances to budget and prior year for key expense categories
• Assistance with management accounts preparation
Other:
• Maintain Accounts Payable function
• Resolve purchase order and vendor invoicing issues appropriately
• Maintaining up to date and accurate fixed asset register
• Daily bank reconciliation, cash allocation and petty cash handling
• Vendor onboarding and invoice processing
• Review and processing of employee expenses and company card transactions
• Quarterly VAT return preparation
• Assist with annual budget and quarterly reforecasting process
• Support with on-boarding new joiners for finance and benefits
• Identify drivers of overspend, prepare ad hoc analysis and develop recommendations to reduce finance risk
• Significant involvement in the year-end process, preparation of deliverables for the audit
• Support the preparation of statutory statistical filings in the UK and overseas.
• Support the development of a robust control environment by continuously identifying opportunities to improve financial systems and processes
• Respond to routine queries and provide advice relative to own area of expertise
• Ongoing non-business as usual project work within the finance team as and when required

Skills
• Studying for a recognised accountancy qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
• Experience working within a Finance team in a high-volume environment
• Advanced excel
• Full MS suite (PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
• Excellent attention to detail
• People person
• Enthusiastic, self-motivated and a desire to drive improvements in a fast-paced and high-growth business.
