Financial Controller

Kenneth Brian Associates are working on an exclusive basis with an expanding SME manufacturing and distribution business based near Burgess Hill in Sussex, looking to hire a Financial Controller.

To be considered for this position you will ideally be qualified (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) with experience of consolidating accounts, managing a small accounts team and be comfortable communicating with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:-

Supervise accounting staff. This is a hands-on role, you will manage the daily activity for the transactional accounts team, ensure all processes are compliant with accounting regulations, making sure staff are fully trained and competent to carry out their daily duties and complete quarterly appraisals. You will oversee the month end close procedure, set deadlines and ensure all actions are accurately completed on time.

Monitoring expenditure, stock levels and production costs. This includes providing a monthly P&L and regulating general overheads and travel expenditure. You will suggest efficiencies and work with the management team to set financial targets and implement new KPI’s and reporting. This must include reporting production build times, stock levels and material cost variances.

Sales Reporting. You will have the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner to expand the current monthly sales reporting and promote revenue growth. You will also oversee monthly sales commission calculations and payments.

External reporting. Filing of VAT returns, intrastat and EC sales online.
