- Kenneth Brian Associates are recruiting exclusively on behalf of a rapidly growing FMCG business based in Epsom, who are looking for an all-round Financial Controller to join their team in this newly created role.
Ideally you will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong all-round finance skills including technical accounting, group reporting and exposure to some IFRS or UK GAAP reporting.
The successful candidate will be an ambitious, motivated individual with a strong desire to progress in their career.
Reporting into the UK MD you will overseeing a team of 3, this is a hands-on role, so you are likely to have a background working in SME companies.
The key factor in this role is that you have a "can-do" attitude and are a problem-solver / solution finder. You will have a strong financial experience - potentially from training in practice - and a strong background in implementing strong processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and manage corporate tax affairs, including VAT and other relevant tax submissions.
- Payroll and Benefits: Oversee company payroll, national insurance, and pension contributions.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a small team of 2-3 administration professionals.
- Software Expertise: Utilise financial and accounting software such as Sage, SAP, or similar platforms.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or a minimum of 10 years' experience in bookkeeping and financial control.
- Experience in leading a small team, demonstrating strong leadership and team management skills.
- Familiarity with financial and accounting software, such as Sage 200, SAP, or similar platforms.
- Experience in migrating to a new business software platform would be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of UK financial regulations, HMRC compliance, and tax matters.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA), however, our client would consider QBE candidates
- Experience of developing and producing timely and accurate management reports providing clear, meaningful management information to stakeholders
- Experience of devising and implementing robust financial controls.
- Demonstrable experience of driving operational efficiencies
- Good written and verbal communication skills coupled with the ability to reason, persuade and influence effectively.
- Experience of finance systems, particularly Sage 50, Power BI, and proficient in Excel.
