- Description
- A rapidly growing business currently based in Leatherhead, are looking for an all-round Financial Controller to join their team in this newly created role. They are in an exciting phase of growth and expansion, with an ambitious and exciting culture that embraces the highest standards and values.
You will be a qualified accountant with strong all-round finance skills including technical accounting, group reporting and exposure to IFRS.
The successful candidate will be an ambitious, motivated individual with a strong desire to progress in their career.
Reporting into the CFO and managing a team of 2, this is a hands-on role, so you are likely to have a background working in SME companies.
The key factor in this role is that you have a "can-do" attitude and are a problem-solver / solution finder. You will have a strong financial experience - potentially from training in practice - and a strong background in implementing strong processes.
Key Responsibilities- The key leadership role within the Finance team, overseeing the work of two direct reports and six indirect reports, to help develop and drive a high performing finance team.
- Timely and accurate delivery of all group financial reporting requirements. Including group consolidation, balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow forecasts.
- Full ownership of the month end management accounts, including presentation of results to the Senior Leadership Team
- Consolidate 12-week group cash flow forecasts on a weekly basis, including presentation to CEO as well as monitoring and advising on key cash flow movements, dates, and balances.
- Preparing and submitting statutory accounts and to also be the key point of contact to the external auditors
- Managing the annual budgeting process, including liaising with commercial and operational teams.
- Tax compliance across all territories (VAT and CT). Including R&D claims and Corporation Tax returns
- Designing, documenting, implementing, and maintaining best in class internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Identify and implement process improvements with a view to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Overview of payroll and PAYE returns.
- Hands on approach to management of the finance team, including credit control, AR and AP, as and when required.
- Ensuring systems and process are robust / fit for purpose and scalable.
- Commercial and Operational business partnering with reporting on sales and operational performance.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
- Experience of developing and producing timely and accurate management reports providing clear, meaningful management information to stakeholders
- Experience of devising and implementing robust financial controls.
- Demonstrable experience of driving operational efficiencies
- Good written and verbal communication skills coupled with the ability to reason, persuade and influence effectively.
- Experience of finance systems, particularly Sage 50, Power BI, and proficient in Excel.
