- Description
- Kenneth Brian Associates are exclusively assisting a successful and growing business based in Burgess Hill with the recruitment of a Financial Controller.
The role will report into the Director of Finance and will be responsible for a team of 6 staff. You will ideally be a fully qualified accountant, however our client will also look at QBE accountants with relative experience too.
Key duties will include:- Manage, support and develop the Senior Treasury Clerk and the Financial Accountant, as well as members of the Purchase ledger & Sales Ledger / Credit Control teams and those functions.
- Management of financial accounting processes to trial balance, ensuring all processes are undertaken on a timely basis, to a high standard, and ensure compliance with legislation and best practice.
- Lead the production of the statutory annual accounts.
- Management of the audit process and relationship
- Oversee all aspects of the purchase, sales ledger and credit control function, including the production of relevant reports including; monthly debtor summaries, occupancy reconciliations, aged debtors and aged creditors.
- Oversee the management of the balance sheet including a detailed review and periodic reconciliations of key areas
- Treasury management - review and maintenance of cash position
- Financial controls - manage financial internal control process
- Review finance policies and procedures including the development of new processes where needed
- Check and authorise payments to suppliers, transmit weekly payment run, supervise posting to Cash Books and reconciliations of bank accounts
- To complete any VAT returns and assist in maximising VAT savings for the company
