- Kenneth Brian Associates are working with a prestigious leisure business looking to hire a Finance Director to work closely with the General Manager to manage the Finance and IT functions and supporting strategic decision making within the company.
This is a hands-on role requiring an individual who will have overall responsibility to help shape the Finance and IT teams. The Finance Director will have responsibility for the budgeting cycle, month end reporting, and IT systems. In addition, working with the General Manager and Senior Leadership Team this role will be responsible for developing the company strategy and cash flow management.Key Responsibilities:- Provide leadership to optimise the company’s financial performance and strategic position including reporting insights and operational metrics.
- Form a close collaborative working relationship with the General Manager and Senior Leadership Team.
- Contribute fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, providing pro-active challenge to assumptions and decisions where appropriate.
- On a timely basis, review the month end reporting packs and work with the team to develop relevant KPIs to measure and guide the business performance.
- Take an active role in preparing the annual budgets, long-term plans and cash flow forecasts.
- Ensure that financial and IT systems are robust, compliant and support current and future requirements.
- Work with the IT Manager to develop an IT strategy fit for purpose to enable the business strategy to be carried out.
- Take the lead role in planning and reviewing the annual audit.
- Take overall responsibility for all tax requirements including PSA, VAT, and Corporation tax.
- Manage strong working relationships with external parties including customers, suppliers and advisors where applicable
- Lead and develop the Finance and IT teams.
- An experienced strategic and commercially minded qualified finance professional.
- An analytical, enquiring mind with good problem-solving skills
- Excellent management skills
- Previous experience in a similar position with responsibility for multiple SMEs.
- Excellent IT skills with previous experience of managing an IT function
- Previous experience of working in a privately owned family business would be beneficial.
- A “hands on” and pragmatic approach.
- Strong interpersonal and well-developed organisational and communication skills.
