Kenneth Brian Associates are working exclusively, with a not for profit organisation based in Epsom who are looking for an interim Finance Director (to start immediately) as they go through a period of change.
We are looking for someone who can commit until the end of the year (but could be extended) as well as being able to travel to Epsom at least 3 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- To play a key role in the development of the strategy, contributing financial and commercial acumen to evaluate the financial viability of options arising from the strategic review
- To support the CEO as a key agent of change to enable the group achieve future performance and sustainability
- Lead the improvement of robust management information (both financial and operational) to allow the SMT and Board to improve operational management, decision-making and strategy development
- Consider the opportunities for greater digital transformation to create efficiencies and improve information systems
- Develop a financial strategy for future funding, including the meeting of all existing obligations
- Ensure the annual Financial Statements are prepared for in accordance with the latest charity SORP and accounting standards
- Oversee the completion of, and presentation of the annual budget to the Trustees
- Responsible for managing and mitigating key financial risks
- Responsible for the monthly rolling cash flow forecast
- Provide accounting and financial input to the monthly meetings of the SMT
- Overall responsibility for the finance function, ensuring it meets the standards and requirements of the group
- Review existing accounting controls and policies in line with best practice, recommending and implementing changes and additions as appropriate
- Lead and oversee the development and implementation of new finance & operational systems
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Up to date knowledge of SORP
- Strategic thinker, provide analysis and logical assessments
- Excellent communication skills and able to build rapport with stakeholders
- Strong commercial negotiation skills
- Engagement with external stakeholders and funding bodies
- Team management skills
The ideal candidate will have experience and exposure working with SLT's, and MUST have experience working towards a merger within the not for profit sector or NHS.
